Gelderlandplein is a household name among Dutch shoppers. The shopping centre combines everyday groceries with high-end fashion and luxury goods. It is located in Buitenveldert, Amsterdam’s wealthiest district. Amsterdam’s most expensive office space, on the Zuidas, is within walking distance. The adjacent Amsterdam Zuid station is being expanded into a major railway station that is expected to handle 250,000 passengers a day by 2030. Its excellent location, combined with the popular international residential area on the Zuidas, which will have more than 7,000 homes by 2030, ensures Gelderlandplein high visitor numbers. For shoppers coming from further away, Gelderlandplein has ample parking. Visitors can park free of charge for 1.5 hours in car park P1 and for as long as 2.5 hours in the adjacent P2 and P3. The centre is also easy to reach by public transport via the free “Gelderlandplein Line” shuttle bus, which runs to the Zuidas, Bolestein, De Boelelaan and VU Amsterdam.
